All about our actions of last year!
We are really grateful and proud of what we achieved this year :
- More than 12,745 trees planted all over Belgium with 6 tree plantings organised, which supports the reforestation of 275,000 trees in Burundi.
- Our commitment to education and youth empowerment led us to conduct 333 workshops with 6,923 children across Belgium, we have nearly doubled since last year!
- We received more than 2000€ of donations for helping the chimps and supporting our work in Chimp Eden sanctuary and Dindefelo Reserve in Africa. To our actual Chimp Guardians who have supported the centra on a recurrent basis, we express our deepest gratitude for being part of this mission year after year.
This year has been an emotional and meaningful one for the team at the Jane Goodall Institute Belgium. The passing of Dr. Jane Goodall deeply touched us all.
Throughout the year, our team, together with our volunteers and partners, continued to bring environmental education to young people, plant trees across Belgium and support nature-positive action wherever we could.
A big thank you to everyone who took part in this year's tree planting with us. It's been a busy season, with 6 planting events since January 2025 and over 12,000 trees planted, well done! The tree plantings took place in several locations: Torhout, Balen, Overijse, Manhay, Ans and Tervuren. We are often acompanied with a lot of partners and volunteers such as Sylva Nova, Bosgroepen, SoWoods, Luminus, Ethias, Noshaq, WWF, municipalities as well as schools, local residents, youth groups and scouts.
At the same time, our Roots & Shoots programme continued to grow, reaching more schools, youth groups and young changemakers across Belgium, and reinforcing Jane’s belief in the power of young people to drive positive change.
As we move forward, we do so with determination and care. Jane’s voice may be gone, but her message lives on in every workshop, every tree planted and every young person empowered.
